About the Artwork
"Pearson + State" is one of the six pieces from the "Chicago in Winter" series. Inspired by moments of urban beauty, these pieces draw upon the warm feelings the city can evoke even on the coldest days. 
 
"Pearson + State" features the intersection just north of Chicago and State. The rain and sleet is in full effect, and the puddles reflect the warmth of the flourescent lights. A solitary car braves the weather, perhaps headed home to a cozy abode. The journaled words "love," and "the end of a cycle" frame the top and bottom of the image reminding the viewer of the cyclical nature of the seasons. Crappy weather won't last forever. And if you stay in a place of love, you can love the crappy weather! 
 
Using a layering technique with an original printed photo, the "Chicago in Winter" pieces are one of a kind with no prints made. Art comes unframed and can be floated on a large mat for a larger piece or framed closer to highlight the detailed image.
